An experienced lifestyle photographer, Abbie Mellé has built an Instagram following of over 100k people who check in for her earthy, light-filled, chic country vibe. Having just made the move back from London to the photogenic New South Wales Southern Highlands, the Bowral-based influencer celebrated by giving her bedroom a makeover with some gorgeous Pottery Barn furniture and homewares.
“When envisaging styling my bedroom, I wanted to have items that gave a quiet peaceful feel to the space, without being too loud or showy. These pieces are perfect for creating such a room. I picked these particular pieces for their elegant simplicity and beautiful design, ” says Abbie whose stylish bucolic aesthetic makes her a perfect fit for the brand.
As for her number one decorating tip, Abbie is a fan of keeping things simple and pared back while incorporating muted tones and plenty of soft texture. “I like to do this by adding in items I love, and then taking some away, regularly switching around elements to keep things interesting and varied.” A prominent feature in her Instagram feed, fresh foliage is a hallmark of the photographer’s work. “I always, always bring in fresh flowers and a beautiful pot plant,” says Abbie.
