Boyd Blue have launched a collaboration of their in-house brand BOYD with award-winning stylist and designer Kate Nixon, that has been years in the making. And we reckon it was worth the wait!

The nine-piece collection includes a headboard, bedside tables, sideboard, seating and side tables. Crafted from solid oak with detail including handwoven leather, cane and Danish paper cord, the collection is tailored for design lovers and industry professionals alike.
Kate, who runs an interior design studio and homewares store in Sydney, has applied her mastery of tone and texture to the range of high-quality hardwood and mixed material furniture. It strikes the perfect balance between tactile weaves and timeless silhouettes, creating foundation pieces for joyful everyday living.
“The basis of this collection was natural materials and showcasing them in their authentic state,” says Kate. “Seeing the beautiful grain of the carved oak, the turn of the tea-stained paper cords, the intricate weave of the wicker—these are the details and layers which make a piece special. They tell the story of the materials and the skilled hands which have crafted it, reinvented into something beautiful that lives on with us in our home.”
Boyd Blue founder Shelley Boyd, adds: “I think the beauty of this collection is that it is so transitional. It can transition from one look into another if a client moves or changes their décor. These are pieces that you will have forever.”
The collaboration stems from a shared vision, rooted in craftsmanship, design and sustainability. Over several years, Shelley and Kate have carefully curated a collection that honours the balance between form and function while staying true to the values of both brands.
“We wanted the collection to have a thread and a familiarity, but also for each piece to stand alone,” Kate adds. “They capture our combined history and creative journey of inspiration, and design, and the deep connection we share to both the process and the materials we use.”
