What’s new in furniture and homewares: September 2025

By Jen Bishop •

Here’s what’s new in furniture and homewares over the past month.

Tapware brand Meir and concrete basin brand Nood Co, have collaborated on the new Alchemy collection of coloured concrete and metal taps, available from November. The collection offers 12 considered pairing combinations across three product types, from the light touch of champagne hued metal paired with the palest of pinks, to a sumptuous lustre bronze with a deeper olive statement, each creating a distinct mood. What truly defines this range is the way it feels, as a tactile encounter.

Keep Collections’ new range, Secrets, evokes a sense of late night dinner parties, where guests linger to the early hours. It features sculptural vases and objects and oversized statement serveware in rich berry tones, matte espresso and deep green. This is offset with touches of orange, lavender and bright coral.

Cushie is Australia’s first modular sofa bed with a real mattress. Designed to adapt to real life, the Cushie shifts effortlessly from an armchair to a 9-seater sectional, offering the flexibility to suit any space or moment.  The Cushie also delivers true sleep comfort with pocket springs and memory foam, no clunky metal frames or awkward pull-outs, just a smooth, silent transition in four seconds. Upholstered in durable, stain-resistant performance fabric, it’s pet-friendly, easy to clean, and made for modern living with removable and machine-washable covers. Available from Lifely.

Turner Hastings‘ new Sydney showroom is now open to explore their exclusive range of kitchen, laundry and bathroom products. Open Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm. Walk-ins welcome or bookings are recommended for more detailed assistance. Unit 2/40 O’Riordan St, Alexandria NSW 2015. Phone: 02 4611 7670.

Basil Bangs have launched their new range of footstools – for peak holiday chill time. The perfect addition to your outdoor seating – the new footstools add a little extra comfort and a whole lot of resort-style appeal. Crafted from solid hardwood and finished with exclusive Basil Bangs fabrics – they’re built to last. The covers are simple to remove – meaning easy maintenance, and later down the track – can be updated. $199 each.

al.ive body is reintroducing its home Fragrance collection – strategically reimagined to feel like an entirely new category for the brand. Available now on al.ivebody.com.au, the relaunch takes their most loved scents and extends them into the spaces we live. With Soy Candles, Reed Diffusers, and Room Sprays, the collection has been redefined to offer both lasting fragrance and design-led styling.

Hali’s Ajmer rug collection is blooming this spring with 17 colours, including four fresh shades: Butter (pictured below), Peach, Sage, and Sky. Handmade from 100% New Zealand wool using the traditional abrash dyeing technique, every Ajmer rug features subtle tonal variations, adding unique texture and warmth. These plush rugs bring an understated luxury to both classic and contemporary interiors, with an array of shades to roll out in every room palette.

CSR’s latest Style Guide is a free resource designed to inspire, with advice on design styles, colour palettes and material combinations across bricks, cladding, roofing, insulation and interiors – helping homeowners bring your renovation vision to life.

CSR Gyprock have introduced the Canto profile to its comprehensive cornice range. While minimalistic in form, the 90mm design is distinctive, featuring a stepped ridge that flows into a subtle curve, transforming the ceiling line into a striking feature. To help visualise how a cornice will suit a room, Gyprock’s interactive online Cornice Visualiser tool, allows homeowners to experiment with cornice designs in real-time across a variety of room styles with a choice of wall colour, ceiling height, lighting effects and accessories. With the launch of Canto, Gyprock’s Inspiration range now offers seven different cornice profiles that complement emerging Australian interior style trends.

Australian design house, ABI Interiors’ outdoor range is designed to enhance the exterior of your home with products that are as durable as they are stylish. Engineered to withstand the harshest environmental conditions, their collection combines premium materials with timeless design, offering a seamless extension of your indoor aesthetic into the outdoors. Crafted from marine-grade 316 stainless steel, ABI’s outdoor sinks are built to endure the elements while maintaining a sleek, modern look. Available in four signature finishes, they’re the ideal addition to any alfresco kitchen. Complete your outdoor space with ABI’s curated range of accessories: from sleek robe hooks and pool fence spigots to custom lettering and numbering. Each piece is crafted for durability and designed to complement your exterior with a cohesive, refined finish. ABI’s outdoor tapware range is designed to deliver both style and performance in any exterior setting. Featuring the Sola Minimal Mixer, Handle Kits, Wall-Mounted Spouts, and Outdoor Kitchen Mixers, each piece is engineered for durability and crafted to complement your outdoor space with a clean, cohesive aesthetic.

The next Sydney Ceramics Market is set for Saturday 18 & Sunday 19 October 2025 at Carriageworks. Back for its fourth year, they’re welcoming their biggest line-up yet with more than 130 ceramic artists and makers from NSW and the ACT. Far from your typical market, Sydney Ceramics Market is where design lovers, collectors and the curious come to discover one-of-a-kind works and get to know the makers shaping contemporary Australian ceramics.

The new ECOVOACS DEEBOT X11 is now available in Australia. The OZMO ROLLER 2.0, equipped with TruEdge 3.0 Extreme Edge Cleaning, ensures deep, edge‑to‑edge cleaning with 100% coverage, while the newly upgraded high-density-nylon mop roller and heavy-duty cleaning solution significantly boost the robot’s ability to tackle tough floor stains. With TruePass, the new DEEBOT easily conquers obstacles, crossing single thresholds as high as 2.4cm and various thresholds up to 4cm high. The intelligent AGENT YIKO brings a fully autonomous cleaning experience, offering deep analysis and customised cleaning plans. Powered by a 100W high-performance fan and 6400 mAh battery, the DEEBOT X11 achieves a 140% boost in fine dust removal, 262% boost in hair removal, and a 100% large particles pick-up rate. Its bagless design, driven by the world’s first OmniCyclone Station, delivers powerful suction while emptying, and eliminates the need for consumables. I've been meaning to post about getting out of hos I've been meaning to post about getting out of hospital in time for Christmas and spending a magical time with my beautiful family and friends for days now, but I was staying in the moment and off my phone. My wish came true and it really was amazing to enjoy that Santa magic.

Sadly, the day after Boxing Day, I ended up back in an ambulance after an internal bleed where my hemoglobin levels dropped dangerously low. I'm not very good at explaining the medical side, but after surgery and a couple of nights in ICU, I'm now on a ward and recovering well, hoping I get to return home ASAP.

I have so many thank yous to say for the incredible GoFundMe donations and kindness and support I've received. I really am blown away and so grateful. There are so many good people in the world, both strangers and those I'm lucky enough to know.

And having now received 6 bags of blood transfusion myself, another huge shout out to all donors. I felt so good to know I've done my bit donating over the years when I received someone else's life saving donation. Please consider doing the same and potentially saving a life.

Before ending up back in hospital, I was settling in well at home with daily visits from nurses and I'm hoping I can get back to that new normal again soon.

Thank you again to everyone for their kindness. And biggest thanks to @damianfrancis for truly spoiling me at Christmas and once again holding the fort at home. Our boys are so lucky to have you ❤️

Trigger warning: cancer. Home is SO important to Trigger warning: cancer.

Home is SO important to me, I even made a job out of talking about it. And having been stuck in hospital for 5 weeks, away from my sanctuary and my boys, I've never craved it more.

I'm going through the hardest time of my life and I'm finally sharing it here in the way I hope you've always known me to; with authenticity, realness and hope.

I've been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. It's devastating and life-changing news and feels very vulnerable to share. Sadly it's causing me so much physical pain, I can't manage it at home. Being stuck in hospital, on top of keeping this secret, has been very isolating.

Our precious boys are our number one priority and we are being very well supported by our medical team and amazing friends and family. I can't say enough about the huge role my husband is playing in keeping us together.

I've continued to work when possible because I love it and it's a big part of my identity. I want as much normalcy, distraction and positivity as possible right now. Some days I put my lipstick on and face the day with gratitude for all the good stuff, like my world class friends and amazing healthcare. But I'm only human and other days, I just can't.

Despite the gravity of the situation, I only have to look at my boys to know I cannot give up hope.

Thanks for all the love and support I know you'll throw my way but please respect my boundaries by not asking medical questions or making medical suggestions, and know that I won't be able to reply to everyone.

This beautiful community has supported me for over a decade and I'm sure your kindness will help me no end. And if you want to support me, keep reading the blog so my work isn't wasted!

I'll still be the main point of contact for Interiors Addict but things will look a little different as I continue my chemo (3 rounds down) and get used to my new way of life.

Right now, my only wish is to be discharged to my family for Christmas.

Because I can no longer give blood, if anyone would like to make a festive donation of blood or plasma on my behalf and share it with me here, that would really make my day ❤️

PS. Nurses are worth their weight in gold.

This once 90s kitchen is now reflective of the Mid This once 90s kitchen is now reflective of the Mid Century home it's the heart of, and its stylish owners who love vintage glass and other Marketplace finds.

Head to the blog via link in bio to see more of this transformation by @howardlanedesigns Designer Tamiko Gleeson says: "I love that the kitchen now truly serves Peter and Trish – functionally and aesthetically. While every finish is new, there’s a bold sense of nostalgia and confidence in the selections. I love the Jamaican Walnut joinery with its subtle peek of Botanical Green, and the vertical timber slats in the sliding doors and wall-hung bar.

“I love the checkered tiles on the splashback and the way they add a playful rhythm to the space. But what I love most is how the design shines even brighter when layered with their Facebook Marketplace finds."
