The Big Design Market Sydney 2025 is at Carriageworks, Sydney, from 19 to 21 September. This event offers a one of a kind shopping experience with an exceptional curation of independent, ethical design brands, a number of activations and a top shelf lineup of gourmet food and drink. Visitors can expect a joy filled day full of exploration, discovery and indulgence, with a celebration of creativity and innovation underpinning the whole event. Some homewares highlights include Airr Made, Arcadia Scott, Authete, Emma Morgan, Em Hatton, Everything Flows, Green Studio, Ignem Terrae, Inthee, Marlo Woodwork, Moody Rabbit, Rob Fuller Ceramics and Susie Brooks Ceramics

After the runaway success of their Icons debut collection (which has sold out three times to date), Hali Rugs and Smac Studio are back with a second Icons collection and it’s even bolder then the last. Drawing from European influences, the new collection features four designs Vicenza, Monaco, Seville and Marseille each available in three colourways. Think scalloped edges, racing curves, and fashion-inspired motifs woven into richly coloured, tactile floorwear. Designed by interior designer Shona McElroy and brought to life by Hali’s master craftspeople, the collection marries personality with polish and is already featuring in Smac Studio’s latest projects (and Shona’s own home). The new collection will be available from September.

In a clever plastic recycling idea, Jack Matrix have used kerbside recycled plastic (such as shampoo bottles and yoghurt containers) to create a 100% recycled plastics decorative screen to conceal the very wheelie bins that are used to collect the plastic waste in the first place! $299 and available at Bunnings nationwide.
