Trudi Hipworth is a Melbourne based self-taught artist who grew up in a family full of artists. She left her mark everywhere she lived by painting animals, insects and abstracts on the walls!
After high school, Trudi pursued a different career in the fitness industry to provide for her two sons. But as soon as they were off to primary school, she decided that it was time to go back to the thing she loved – painting. Her first collection was a series of butterflies that filled her house, and she hasnโt stopped painting since.
Her latest โRustic Seriesโ is very different to her previous work. “My work is about colour and organic textures,” she says. “I have been called eclectic as I like to constantly change styles in each new series. I love playing with colour and texture. My work is becoming more minimal as time goes and I am loving stripping it all back and just enjoying the colours and textures and different feelings they convey.”
Trudi’s chosen mediums are acrylic paint and impasto. She derives her inspiration from nature and is fascinated by the colours, textures and patterns that occur organically.
โItโs a tough world we live in and I think art helps us to experience moments of happiness and peace,” says Trudi. “I hope to to create something that brings others joy.”
Her work is able to be viewed in person at her home studio and at the Ryazanoff Gallery in Albert Park or bought online.
