Bonham Gallery has officially opened the doors to its new flagship space in Sydney, marking a significant evolution for one of Australasia’s most respected design voices. Founded by renowned interior designer Jason Bonham, the gallery brings together a world-class roster of artists, designers and makers, many of whom have never been shown in the region before.

Located in the heart of Rushcutter’s Bay, Bonham Gallery Sydney is the first space in Australia solely dedicated to internationally sourced collectible design and functional art. From rare sculptural lighting and handcrafted furniture to museum-grade objects and contemporary artworks, the gallery showcases pieces that are both of their time and destined to endure.
Founder and creative director Jason said: “Bonham Gallery is deeply personal. It brings together everything I’ve learned over decades in design and channels it into something lasting – something that gives back to the artists and makers who’ve inspired me. More than just a gallery, it’s a living expression of my values: craftsmanship, curation and connection.”
The opening follows the success of Bonham’s original gallery in Arrowtown, New Zealand – a destination known for its seasonal connection to Australian collectors and growing international appeal. Arrowtown provided a grounding point for Bonham to establish the gallery’s curatorial vision and build strong relationships with both artists and collectors. The move into Sydney reflects a long-held ambition to expand this vision across Australia and shift of focus to Australian clients.
Bonham Gallery represents a carefully curated, ever-evolving stable of globally recognised artists and studios spanning collectible furniture, sculpture, lighting, functional objects and fine art. Each piece is made with intention and material integrity, handcrafted in studios, not factories, and reflects the gallery’s commitment to time-honoured craft and cultural dialogue.
“We’re here to offer architects, designers and collectors access to works that honour material tradition, support generational craftsmanship, and reflect a slower, more sustainable creative future.”
The gallery launch introduces Australian audiences to works from Jean-Luc Le Mounier, J McDonald, Esrawe, Ewe Studio, Douglas Fanning, JMW Studio, Coup Studio, 314 Studio, Stefan Leo, Francesco Maria Messina and Fine Artists such as Jonathan Prince, Ian Rayer-Smith, Samuel Dejong, Michael Rex, Eelco Hilgersom amongst many others.
Bonham Gallery is a collaboration with earned-led culture agency Example, who first transformed the former smash repairs site into a purpose-built creative space in 2019. Now, in a new chapter, the partnership has reimagined the site once again – this time as a hybrid headquarters and gallery. Bringing together Example and Bonham Gallery under one roof, the space is a reflection of their shared values: design integrity, creative curiosity and cultural impact.
