Welcome to our new feature, Room Talk, where we get an interior designer to talk us through one of their latest projects. First up, Serena Elise of White Chalk Interiors in Hampton, VIC.
“We did this home from new build. The brief for this bayside Melbourne home was to achieve a sophisticated yet elegant look which also functioned well (and would continue to look good) for a growing family. The client preferred a neutral scheme, with pops of colour as accents.
“To add visual interest and create the element of sophistication with the neutral palette, we layered texture and pattern, scale and form. The generous use of scatter cushions and the large round ottoman soften the geometry of the room.”
