โWe had a dream of creating our own brand and 10 years later, here we are!โ says Nicky Morgan, owner of eb&ive and the new homewares line under it, LOVESHACK.
While starting a label is a dream many might have, Nicky and her friend Jules Mckie-Walker actually did it.
While itโs just Nicky in the business these days, Jules having become a full-time mum, creating the brand was a joint effort between friends and was a โnatural progression,โ says Nicky. Having shared a love of all things fashion and homewares since they were young, and ending up in the fashion industry in sales and marketing roles, the desire to express their own style only grew. It was 2008 when they made it happen โ beginning with a small handmade jewellery collection. A few years later, the label expanded into handbags, clutches, shoes, fashion and small leather goods and really took off. They havenโt looked back since, with LOVESHACK being the most recent addition.
LOVESHACK, like the rest of the label, has an effortlessly chic, relaxed look. Rich landscapes, sand and sea mist, vibrant people, ever-changing cultures and global lifestyle โ thanks to lots of travel and exotic destinations โ have been the inspiration behind all the eb&ive collections and the homewares range is no different. โThe amazing people we met and places we travelled were inspirational,โ says Nicky. It was watching artisans produce beautiful hand screenprinted quilts and cushions, or the making of ceramics, for example, that encouraged them to start the line, wanting to share what they found.
Being a combination of traditional styles from across the globe and Nickyโs own, more contemporary designs, LOVESHACK is a unique and colourful range, which is exactly the point.โWe want people to have fun with it,โ says Nicky, โpriding ourselves on offering striking pieces our customers can enjoy in their home.โ
While itโs one step at a time, the reaction to the first range suggests itโs only going to grow from here. You can take a look at the full collection online at www.ebandive.com.au and purchase it from various stockists and online stores.

Thanks for an inspiring post. A friend and I have also dreamed a while about creating our own products and retailing. We are almost there! All the best to Nicky – it is a lovely range.
