Melbournites can now pick up a piece of Paris at Jade + Amber, a new Toorak furniture and homewares store by French interior designer Nadia Aber-Griffith. Designed to look and feel like you’re entering a sumptuous Parisian salon, the showroom boasts a chic curation of brands including the designer’s signature chairs and delectable homewares and accessories from the iconic French brand Ladurée.
“Melbourne reminds me of home with the fashion, food, beautiful architectural buildings and I love that it’s a multi-cultural city,” says Nadia, who met her Australian husband in Paris before making a permanent move down under. Having worked as an interior designer in the French capital for 15 years, she is well placed to offer Melbourne shoppers a pop of Paris for their homes.
“My passion is to create moments of beauty in our daily existence and my design philosophy is to inspire, motivate and empower. I like to combine details and style to create unique, interesting and beautiful results,” says Nadia, whose signature chairs won the Australian Made category at the Gift & Life InStyle 2015 awards. Reminiscent of Philippe Starck’s Louis Ghost chair, they combine perspex, wood and leather.
To top it off, the designer is an ambassador for a couple of high-end French brands – Manufacture de Porcelaine de Monaco and Maison Ladurée Paris (specifically their homewares and accessory collections).
