Located in Collaroy on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, this home was built in the early 1940s. Although the original three-bedroom red brick home was a cosy start for the Driver family when purchased back in 2007, the tiny kitchen and closed in rooms left them tight on space as the family grew.

Over the past 16 years, Sarah & Kell Driver slowly chipped away at opening up the home with a new kitchen, large alfresco area, pool and granny flat addition, whilst respecting its character, history and original features.
The past 12 months saw Josephine Maruca-Parker and her team at JMP Interior Design, assisting with the final piece of their renovation journey; the first storey addition and enviable parentsโ retreat.
“Designing an extraordinary light-filled space, we opened the interiors into an impressive 11m high void, making it comfortable to entertain across both levels of the home, and keeping an easy eye on their children,” said Josephine.
โWe like to be close by one another. That was most important to us that our home still felt like a warm hug at the end of a day and our sanctuary together,โ homeowner Sarah says.
Josephine adds: “The second floor is truly spectacular with high skillion ceilings throughout, fully customised master ensuite, open plan lounge and bar, sprawling onto a generous balcony with panoramic ocean views over beautiful Collaroy and Long Reef headland. And not to mention, the oversized, fully customised his and hers walk-in-robe adorned in natural oak and the impressive verde alpi marble.
“With our clients’ love for indoor-outdoor seamless living, the natural materials of oak cabinetry, timber exterior elements, oversized windows and the tones of green throughout the verde alpi marble, the respectful restoration of the old and the functional beauty of the new, are the perfect combination for this Northern Beaches home.”
