Known for her custom monogrammed goods, Neue Blvdโs Christie Turvey is an expert at personalisation and if thereโs one day of the year that is lovely to personalise, itโs Christmas. From colour schemes to tabletop styling, we caught up with Christie recently and got her take on chic and meaningful festiveย styling.
Make Christmas an event
While Christie believes in simple and elegant Christmas styling, she also loves seeing festive pieces styled throughout the home. โRather than just focusing on one area or room you could put a glass reindeer on display and lots of little Christmas touches splashed all around โ wreaths on doors and beautiful decorations sparsely placed. It just feels so much more festive when your home is styled that way,โ says Christie.
Simple colours
Rather than combining too many colours, Christie is a fan of a simple Christmas colour scheme โ especially when it comes to her tree. โOur tree is very large, and this year I have decorated it with a combination of metallic colours. Think beautiful rose golds, golds and silvers together with the monogrammed, metallic leather stars from my store,โ says Christie.
Personalisation
โIt makes it so much more special if there are place names on the table, names on Santa sacks and stockings, and on the decorations for the tree. Itโs by focusing on these little details that you can add an extra touch of Christmas magic,โ says Christie.
Tabletop styling
โChristmas lunch is very grand so it is important to have the table set accordingly. We always make sure to set the table with name place settings, Christmas crackers, beautiful glassware, linen napkins and lots of flowers. The key ingredients to a gorgeous styled table this Christmas is lots of flowers and greenery,โ says Christie who prefers to step away from traditional Christmas colours on her tabletop too. โThis year itโs all about the rose gold and blush pink – a more modern take on Christmas, but still with all the usual trimmings,โ says Christie.
