Colour analysis for interior decor: What’s your perfect palette? Take this fun quiz then shop your season!

Are you a ‘winter’ – the bold visionary? Or do you prefer an easy-going interior space that’s more reflective of a summer’s day? For those looking to spruce up their home, it’s now easier than ever to bring the viral colour analysis trend into your home. Temple & Webster has just dropped an interior design inspiration quiz to help homemakers inject parts of their own personality into the design of their interior spaces.
Lucy Sutherland, director of insights & trends at Temple & Webster, says that this is a creative extension on the colour analysis trend that gained mass traction in fashion in recent years.
“The personal colour analysis trend for styling clothing has maintained popularity across the globe, and we saw it blow up across Australia too. The method considers different hues in clothing and matches them to skin tone, providing shoppers with their own ‘season’, including an individual colour palette which acts as a framework to shop for clothing pieces that best suit them.”
Lucy says she often sees hesitation among shoppers when designing and restyling their homes. “We used the desire for consumers to be more colour conscious, and have taken it to the interior design space. The quiz is designed to be a fun and creative way to give shoppers a head start in identifying colours and items that suit their unique personality traits.
“The results provide a personalised colour palette and ‘season,’ along with additional guidance on which finishes best complement their palette”.
Marble and velvet, for example, work best with winter tones, paired with rich chocolate and merlot hues, whereas timber suits autumn, with shades of terracotta and blush to complement.
The online furniture and homeware retailer has even created a bespoke curation of products to suit the colour palette for each quiz result.
The quiz is designed for everyone from all levels of design experience, from seasoned interior designers to those dipping their toes into a home restyle. Discover which palette suits you best and find out whether your design style leans towards comforting nostalgia or effortless, low-maintenance chic.
