Are you glued to your TV every Sunday night for room reveal? Are you a Blockhead? Do you think you could do better than most of the contestants? Might be time to put your money where your mouth is and apply for next year’s show!
Applications are now open for The Block 2014. Teams of 2 must be aged 18 to 25 and available for 10 weeks of filming between November (2013) and January. The location is yet to be revealed but applications are being taken from across Australia.
Guidelines and requirements
- Couples must be aged between 18-65, energetic and with a sense of humour.
- First round couples will be reduced to final participants in the first week of filming.
- Successful couples must be available for a 10-week shoot period November 2013 to January 2014. Exact dates to be confirmed closer to filming.
- Location of The Block 2014 is to be confirmed.
- You will NOT be able to work during the shoot period.
- Previous home renovation experience is an asset, but not required from both partners.
- Long term couples, family teams and enduring friendships need only apply.
- Submissions accepted from Australia wide.
- Successful participants will be paid a nominal weekly fee during filming of The Block to cover basic living costs and expenses.
- You must complete all elements of the application, including video, in order to be considered for The Block.
- Applications can only be made online. Hardcopy submissions will not be accepted or processed.
- McGregor Casting will carefully review applications for consideration of inclusion in The Block 2014.
- Shortlisted couples will be contacted in October, 2013.
- Due to the volume of applications,only successful applicants will be notified.

As soon as I know, you’ll know here! No word yet but I believe the next series has already started filming. Not defintie though.
I think there needs to be a series where all of the contestants are all completely inexperienced, renters help out those who have never renovated because they are everyday battlers who cannot afford a mortgage in todays market. I think it’s unfair that contestants who only just won $400, 000 last year got another $600, 000 this year.
Wondering about applications for the next block 2015. Would love to apply. If I could be emailed that would be great.

Its says teams of 2 have to be aged 18-25 – me and my sister in law are 31 – does that mean that we can’t apply?? Couples can be 18-65?? I’m confused.
