kaboodle kitchen craft high quality, affordable cabinetry with facilities both internationally and right here in Australia. And they’re pretty proud of their local facility in Somerton, Victoria, where they customise joinery for designer-look kitchens, laundries, home offices, bedrooms and more.
Through DIY-design and installation, kaboodle encourage everyday Australians to turn their renovation dreams into an affordable reality. Their first Melbourne facility opened in 2010, with a brand-new purpose-built facility following in 2016. Paving the way for local customisation, their state-of-the-art facility allows them to customise the widths of their cabinets, doors and panels.
“We identified that Australian kitchens are all unique, but often need one or two customised cabinets to get a perfect fit,” says John Harrison, kaboodle marketing manager. “By starting with our modular, off the shelf range in set sizes, consumers can cleverly combine our locally customised cabinets to get the best of both worlds. The result? A high quality, designer-look kitchen for a fraction of the price – like this nordic charm kitchen!” (as seen above).
“While much of our product is sourced globally, allowing for the best quality in raw materials, scale and value, it’s on local ground that we offer a more tailored, personalised range in a variety of colourways and materials.”

kaboodle’s local facility in Melbourne has two core functions:
- Taking globally-sourced melamine board in leading colours and cutting, drilling and edging them locally to the desired door and/or panel size.
- Customising globally sourced raw-board doors and panels and wrapping them locally with premium thermoformed vinyl finishes in on trend colourways.
The local kaboodle offer includes leading melamine and thermoformed vinyl finishes in on trend colourways from around the globe. All with the affordability, convenience and speed you’d expect from a DIY-friendly range.
So how does the customisable program come to life? kaboodle use state-of-the-art machinery to handle all the customisation requirements. All customised melamine products are cut and edged in their facility.
Stylish profiles in a wide range of colours, doors and panels from their thermoformed range are sprayed with adhesive and placed on racks to dry. Doors and panels are placed on the press table and cleaned, then vinyl is pulled and pressed. Customisable widths are available in all melamine and thermoformed doors in a modern profile. They trim, sort, clean and package prior to dispatching to their Australian state-based warehousing network.
As one of Australia and New Zealand’s largest national suppliers of kitchen cabinetry, they’re also conscious of their environmental impact and taking steps toward building a better tomorrow, with a commitment to local manufacturing, supporting local jobs and the local community.
“We’re proud to employ over 50 Victorians at this facility to bring the very best in value and customisation to life. It’s this continuous local investment in people that really does make it all possible,” says John.
