If you are planning an upgrade to a more sustainable hot water system, there is excellent news. Wilson Heat Pumps, a trusted Australian name in home hot water for more than 95 years, has just been recognised under Victoria’s Solar Homes Program for meeting local content criteria.
From 15 July 2025, three Wilson models, the WHPS 160A, WHPS 250A and WHPS 315A, qualify for the program’s higher hot water rebate of up to $1,400.

This recognition comes at a time when more Australians are making the switch from gas to efficient electric systems. Hot water heat pump installations have more than quadrupled nationally since 2019, with Victoria now leading the way.
“Households are embracing electric heat pump systems because they offer long-term cost savings and environmental benefits,” says Mark. “This rebate makes it even easier for families to invest in systems that align with Australia’s emissions reduction goals.”
Wilson’s eligible heat pump systems are designed with longevity, performance and the planet in mind. The tanks are locally manufactured to handle Australian conditions, and the systems use up to 75.6% less energy in Temperature Zone 1 compared to conventional technologies. They also run on low global warming potential refrigerants, helping to reduce end-of-life emissions.
“Our systems are designed to last, and we’re committed to refrigerant responsibility, extended warranties and circular economy planning,” adds Mark.
The higher rebate applies when eligible Wilson models are quoted and installed and are listed on Solar Victoria’s approved product list.
