The state of South Australia has partnered with lifestyle brand, In The Roundhouse, to create a collection of plates which represent SA in all its beauty.
Originally inspired by South Australia’s deep connection to food, wine, nature, and events, this four-plate set embodies the defining elements that make South Australia a unique destination.
The plates feature colour pop-art curated by South Australian artist Billie Justice Thomson. She incorporates strawberries, mushrooms, grapes, crabs, flowers and leaves, which were inspired by the state’s distinctive hospitality flair.
“Being a proud South Australian, this project has been amazing to work on… It was so nostalgic to work on pieces that celebrate my home and I’m so excited that people will get to see them on these plates.
“I’ve kept my usual artistic style but mixed in character with bold colours and detailed illustrations to showcase different South Australian characteristics to highlight what makes the state so special,” says Billie.
South Australia is renowned for its premium produce, world-class beverages and a full calendar of events. The blend of artwork and dinnerware, allows the plate to serve as a reminder of how food can connect people everywhere.
The plates will also be used at a South Australia festival, Tasting Australia.
