If there’s one brand or shop that still gets me as excited today as it did when I was 18, it’s IKEA. It’s also a rare shop I grew up with in the UK which is exactly the same here in Australia and there’s something comforting and nostalgic about that. I rarely need much for my home these days but I can always find something awesome at IKEA and hey, if I’m not going to buy it, best I share it with my fellow interiors addicts! So, here are my most recent fab finds from the Swedish mega store! and I’ll be back with more every week.
AVSTEG kitchen countertop organiser, $25. How handy is this for all those things you want to have within easy reach but still looking and feeling contained and organised? A great way to add a little styled vignette and some personality to your kitchen too. And the chopping board holder and knife holders are so useful! I think I’ll be adding to my own cart.
Make a statement with the new DYVLINGE Swivel armchair in Kelinge green ($299). What a hue! And it looks so comfy too! Love me some corduroy! It’s based on the MILA swivel armchair, presented as the “anti-stress armchair”, in IKEA’s 1967 catalogue. A big success, designed by Gillis Lundgren, it’s now been given new life with the name DYVLINGE in the Nytillverkad collection.
GÖRSNYGG Carrier bag, $4. We all know how infinitely useful and unbreakable the good old $1.50 blue FRAKTA bags are, but this one’s a little more subtle and stylish and still a serious bargain! It’s giving French vibes!
I’m also loving the smaller striped SÄCKKÄRRA Carrier bag for just $1.75! Perfect for groceries! Who knew IKEA was so chic?!
The new RAMNEFJÄLL Upholstered bed frame ($469 for a queen) looks set to become one of those IKEA classics that look a lot more expensive than they are. Loving the curved headboard and piping detail as well as the fact the cover is removable and washable.
If you’ve thought about dipping your toe in the kitchen rug trend, this hardwearing GÅNGSTIG Kitchen mat ($45) could be the one for you. Easy to vacuum, and even okay for outdoor use on a balcony. Made of 100% polypropylene.
I’d love to know which of these you liked best and if you’ll be adding any to your carts!
