Started by his parents (Karen and Steve, hence the name, no really!) in 1976, the KAS business has always been in Ben David’s genes. “My parents taught me textile design and fabric from a very early age,” he says. “In my late teens I wanted to see the world and worked in Selfridges in London for a couple of years. After enough experience working for other bed linen concessions I came back and started working for Kas while I studied graphic design and marketing.”

Call me old fashioned but I do love a neat symmetrical bed. I do like to have 2 of each cushion on the bed to create a grand look. I like tucking my corners in and have a comforter at the end.How can you use linen to change the look of your bedroom?
Linen with a great design and colour can accentuate a room, which is really easy and simple. Folding your linen in different folds can also change the look and feel and don’t forget changing the way you place your pillows also makes a massive difference.

Modern tropical, Mexican Aztecs and desert flowers.

I love to create the concepts for catalogues and work with my team to come to a fantastic result. Together with our architect I also create the concepts for our exhibitions around the globe.

Always open the packet and touch the linen. You can gauge how good the quality is straight away.
How important is thread count?
Thread count is important. If you want something that is soft I would go with anything above 250. For the ultimate fabric, go with our 500 imperial thread count sheets they are amazing to sleep in.
Last but not least, the question men and women disagree on the world over: How many pillows and cushions are okay on your bed?
I think there is a right medium of cushions that should be used. 4 to 5 scatter cushions is plenty.
