Equipment
- 1 Thermomix
- 1 brownie tin approx. 30cm x 20cm
Ingredients
- 220 g butter unsalted, cut into pieces, plus extra for greasing
- 250 g dark chocolate 70% cocoa solids, cut into pieces
- 380 g sugar
- 6 eggs
- 1 pinch salt
- 150 g flour
- 150 g shelled, halved walnuts optional
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 170°C. Grease a brownie pan or cake tin (approx. 30 cm x 20 cm) and line with baking paper, letting edges of paper hang over sides of tin (the excess baking paper will serve as handles to lift out the brownies).
- Place chocolate in mixing bowl and chop 5 sec/speed 7.
- Add butter and melt 4 min/70°C/speed 2.
- Add sugar, eggs, salt and flour and mix 1 min/speed 4. Scrape down sides of mixing bowl using spatula.
- Add walnuts and mix 10 sec/speed 4.
- Transfer to prepared cake tin, distributing batter evenly. Bake for 23-25 minutes (170°C), or until a toothpick or skewer inserted in the centre comes out with a few damp crumbs. Remove from cake tin using the baking paper to lift out the brownies. Allow to cool and serve brownies cut in squares.
