And the winning piece? It looks like it was sculpted.

apaiser, the Australian luxury bathware brand with 25 years of craft behind them, have taken home the Bath Fixtures prize at the NYCxDESIGN Awards, Interior Design Magazine’s annual celebration of the best in global design, now in its 11th year.
The winner? TEMBO, a collaboration with YOO Studio London (yes, the same firm that was co-founded by Philippe Starck). It’s the first time the two have partnered to create a product. The five-piece collection takes its name from the Swahili word for elephant, drawing on a sense of quiet mass and grounded presence.

Think rounded, organic forms that look hand-carved from solid stone. The kind of bath you’d like to sink into for a few hours (phone off, lights dimmed, completely checked out).

Each piece is sustainably handcrafted in apaiser’s own apaiserMarble®; a blend of marble and stone developed over years of R&D that’s warm to the touch, lighter than natural stone, easy to maintain and available in 18 organic shades. The range includes everything you need to make your bathroom the best room in the house – baths, basins and a bath stool.
