Legendary Australian stylist and bowerbird Sibella Court, recently collaborated with Pottery Barn to create this divine bedroom look. It’s both sublimely Sibella and perfectly Pottery Barn! As ever, she makes this aesthetic look easy, but if you’ve ever tried it yourself, you’ll know it really isn’t!
Since Pottery Barn entered the Australian market five years ago, the global retailer has gained new fans fast. In a nod to the almost chameleon style of Pottery Barn, Sibella was invited to bring her vision to life in a series of original images depicting Australian living.
“Imagine yourself sleeping the summer nights away in a repurposed boatshed,” Sibella says of the look. “Cover the floors with layers of natural and striped rugs, paint the walls in a soft grey and surround yourself with books and games. Maintain the boatshed’s original appeal by using exposed hardware, workmens’ lights and simple joinery and then pile the bed high with blue and white and natural weaves.”

“Sibella Court has a quintessentially Australian style – intelligent, artful and classically comfortable. We knew she’d bring a fresh new perspective to what Pottery Barn is. Enduring quality, timeless pieces that continue to improve with age, infused with her bowerbird instincts. Sibella’s vision is a very Australian re-imagining of a classic American aesthetic, an homage to curated living spaces that tell a story of family, space and time,” said Lexi Kentmann, Director – PR and Brand Marketing, Pottery Barn Australia.

I can’t believe you’d give Siibella Courts look air time, it’s neither new or exciting. The items in “her” look have been around for years.
Pity as there are truely gifted people out there trying to get a start.

Hi Lucille. Each to their own, we say! Plenty of people like Sibella’s look and we give air time to many many stylists, both emerging and established. Jen

That’s a ridiculous comment above. Sibella is amazing. I haven’t seen anyone do ‘her look’ quite the way she can. The way she brings together colour, pattern and texture and makes vintage look so fresh and contemporary. She has been styling for years and is an inspiration to all of us in the design world. Not only that, she’s home grown and self-made from hard work. We should be supporting our aussie talent. I’ve also met her briefly and she’s a lovely person too!

I agree, I think this was a look when shabby chic was in. It looks nice but not anything new or special.
