This Mornington Peninsula house was one of Stamp Interiors’ favourite projects.
Sophie Currer, who makes up Stamp Interiors alongside Alexis Reid, explains: “The brief was to make it user friendly, easy to clean, functional, original and let’s have fun! The house is set up on a hill in the spectacular surroundings of Main Ridge on the Mornington Peninsula.
“At any one time there are grandchildren running about, dogs flying in and outย and big black cows that come and lick the back windows, so we took all of these factors into account.”
The modern house’s white and grey tones were a great muted base to start working with. “We sourced various pieces that added colour and depth. The client has quite an eclectic eye so we worked with some existing pieces whilst adding colourful upholstered chairs, modern lights and a very sleek minimal kitchen.
“We mixed this with old world chandeliers and various antiques for a layered look. The client had a fabulous array of collected pieces, some objets d’art and many pieces sourced from travels abroad.”
“The soft furnishings can be moved and used in different roms so that the house is constantly dynamic and changing without throwing out the old and in with the new. We packaged it all up into one neat parcel. We love to intertwine the old with the new.
“We adore working in this industry and when you get a fabulous client who knows what they want whilst giving you free reign to mix and match, it makes working so much more enjoyable!”
