Country Road opened the doors to its only home boutique last week in Melbourne’s well heeled Albert Park. The new standalone store is the first of its kind since the brand’s original Home launch in 1989, representing a significant milestone for the brand.

The store concept redefines traditional retail by creating an immersive shopping experience and reimagining a home’s familiar spaces. The layout guides customers through thoughtfully designed rooms, each showcasing homewares in a natural, residential setting—making the experience both relatable and inspiring.
Inside, customers will discover a carefully curated selection of the Country Road Home collection, with exclusive services such as complimentary gift wrapping for Country Road members. A new scent station also debuts, allowing customers to experience beautifully crafted hand washes, body cleansers and candles first-hand.
Ty Symonds, general manager for Country Road Home, comments: “Country Road Home has experienced significant and consistent growth over the past five years, with an average year-on-year growth of approximately 11 percent. In fact, the Country Road logo mug is the brand’s second most-popular product, just behind the heritage sweat.
“Launching a standalone store is an exciting opportunity to continue expanding our category beyond the existing space within our apparel stores, to provide a truly bespoke experience for our customers.”
The store’s design elements have been brought to life by local makers, embracing a palette conceptualised in collaboration with Kennedy Nolan Architects and taking inspiration from the Australian landscape. Spotted gum wall cladding, walnut fixtures, and terracotta tiles create a warm, inviting atmosphere. Jardan-designed, Australian made furniture and 100% wool rugs ground the living and bedroom spaces, while custom-glazed pendant lights, wall lights, and a handcrafted basin by Robert Gordon add unique character. Anchor Ceramics, known for their locally made designs, have created bespoke wall hooks for textile displays.
The store opening follows several milestones for Country Road Home, including an Australian made ceramics line with Robert Gordon, and Australian made furniture with Tait.
Country Road Home, Albert Park, is at 198-200 Birdport Street, Albert Park, VIC 3206.
