I was sorry to hear this afternoon that Inside Out editor Richard Waller, whose work I have long admired, has left NewsLifeMedia today. The company, which has also apparently let go Vogue editor Kirstie Clements, has yet to comment. Read the full story in The Australian here.

Sad. Just last week I was thinking what a FAB job Richard was doing at IO. Very strange call.
I love Inside Out… it’s my favourite!
It’s all so controversial.
We are huge fans of Richard, very sad news for Inside Out…
As a mag addict I spend a lot of my hard earned cash on alot of design mags. However in recent times I havent bothered with Inside Out or VL as they both left me uninspired & a bit cold. Each edition became totally predictable & they became very same same. I understand a magazine being true to its own style, but they became very boring.
I also find Belle on a fine line – Ive started a game with each issue – & without doubt each issue of Belle always – ALWAYS features David Hicks or Greg Natale. Belle is becoming a printed catalogue of those designers works almost exclusively.
Thats my rant!
Inside Out just shows the same thing each edition – focussing on hard edges & timber veneer & charcoal colours. Vogue living was getting a little too shabby chic for my tastes.
There are SO many great designers in Australia, yet these mags just show the same stuff over & over.
