For those who value the handmade, the personal touch or the grassroots movement, tomorrow’s Creative Women’s Circle speaker event may just be for you.

Held in Sydney’s Marrickville on 11 October, Pepa Martin and Karen Davis, founders of boutique textile agency Shibori, will be talking about their creative journey and the designer collaborations along the way. Plus there will be the opportunity to purchase their unique and beautiful pieces after the event.
Known for pushing the boundaries of the ancient Japanese craft of shibori dyeing, their work has been extensive, collaborating with the likes of Lee Mathews for a homewares range, McTavish and Sibella Court on fabric inlayed surfboards and Fleur Wood in the creation of a full-scale dip dyed hot air balloon. Currently, Pepa and Karen hold weekly workshops at their studio space in Stanmore and at iconic furniture and homewares store Koskela, inspiring people to unlock their creativity and to think with their hands. Also in 2015, their new how-to book Tie Dip Dye will be published by Thames & Hudson.
Tickets for the Creative Women’s Circle event are $22 for non-members and $11 for members, with 10% of ticket sales going to the Black Dog Institute.
