The Australian Gift & Homewares Association (AGHA) is launching The Pulse, a new product design award which will take place during the Home & Giving Fair (15-18 February 2014) in Sydney.
The idea is to support new designers with small budgets but big ideas, by providing a platform where they can display their designs and be discovered. AGHA wants to give a foot up to those who want to make their mark within the gift and homewares industry. The Pulse gives them the opportunity to showcase their product prototypes, network with successful wholesalers/manufacturers and talk with industry buyers.
Applicants must be new and emerging designers based in Australia. Students and designers with a maximum of 5 years’ experience are also eligible. They’re required to submit an original and innovative product prototype that falls within one of 7 categories: Home, Gift, Kitchen, Outdoor, Children’s, Fashion & Jewellery and Sustainability.
An experienced designer will be the judge and 6 winners will be chosen. They’ll receive a display stand at the Home & Giving Fair to showcase their winning product prototype, and opportunities for internships, mentoring and career coaching from industry veterans in Australia and from overseas.
Applications must be submitted to AGHA by 5pm AEST 13 December 2013.Visit www.homeandgiving.com for more information and to download the application form.
