Married at First Sight stars Kerry and Johnny loved the Vasari Porcelain they chose for their kitchen so much that they made the brave move of sacrificing two windows to create a full wall of the Taj Mahal hero. And the bold design decision, spurred on by their friend and former Blockhead Alisa Fraser, paid off. With its layered lighting and warm tones, their transformed kitchen space has a golden glow from morning til night.

Having worked with Stone Ambassador on their previous home, the pair knew they were in good hands. “The customer experience is unmatched,” Kerry says. “We love that porcelain guarantees consistent colour and veining.”

The couple’s design choices reflect the increasing trend we’re seeing for warmer, often nature-inspired colours in Aussie kitchens and homes overall.
Porcelain had been gaining in popularity even before the engineered stone ban in 2024, and this has only continued as people realise the many benefits of the large format slabs which excel both indoors and out. Porcelain has superior resistance to UV, heat, scratches and stains and is well-suited for fireplaces, bathrooms, wall cladding, outdoor kitchens, and flooring. Want your outdoor kitchen to match your inside one? No problem! What can’t it do, we ask?!
Stone Ambassador’s Vasari Porcelain comes in more than 30 colours, replicating the elegance of natural stone with all the benefits of modern design. What’s more, it comes in three different textures; Matte, Natural and Soft.

Dylan and Jenny, well loved on The Block in 2022, have also created a warm and texture-filled kitchen in their latest Dutton Cove project, using Vasari Porcelain in Taj Mahal. They gave their space a modern Mediterranean twist, balancing practicality with aesthetics.
“We’ve always admired Stone Ambassador for their exceptional quality and ability to capture the beauty of natural stone in such a refined way. Their surfaces not only elevate the look of a space but also provide the durability we need for everyday living.”

Ultimately, their greatest hope is that the home speaks to everyone who walks through the door. “We hope they feel instantly at ease. Our goal was to create a space that feels calm, light-filled and inspiring—a place where luxury and comfort coexist seamlessly.”
In this third beautiful kitchen showcasing Stone Ambassador’s Vasari Porcelain, we can see that size most definitely isn’t everything. Finding a stone that looked like travertine without the cost was key. “The moment I saw Travertino, I knew it was perfect,” the homeowner says. “It adds subtle texture and works beautifully with the brushed bronze finishes.”

Functionality was just as important as aesthetics. Integrated appliances, a large island bench, and a cleverly hidden European-style pantry and laundry behind timber bi-fold doors make the kitchen ideal for entertaining—without sacrificing storage. A custom stone shelf above the sink adds personality while keeping the space open.

Collaborators played a vital role in bringing the vision to life. Mel from Creative Arch guided the architectural design, Fratto Construction handled the renovation and extension, and Northside Cabinets delivered custom joinery throughout. Designer Bathware helped streamline fixture selections, adding the perfect finishing touches.
The homeowner, with a background in creative work and previous renovation experience, took charge of all interior design decisions. “When we bought the property, it was dark and run-down. Now it’s light-filled and full of character—a true sanctuary we’re proud to call home.”
And outside of residential spaces, Stone Ambassador’s recent partnership to transform the Wignells Heating & Cooking showroom in Blackburn, Melbourne, is just another example of how porcelain can be used to great effect commercially. The family business wanted a welcoming, inspiring and more residential feel for what was a 330m² empty shell, and they achieved it. And then some!

Danni Free Interiors created a space where customers can experience fireplaces, cookers, and heating solutions in thoughtfully curated lifestyle zones designed for connection and conversation.

A muted, earthy palette, inspired by the Australian landscape, sets the tone, using Vasari Porcelain in Creme Brulée, Morocco and Travertino. “Porcelain makes a statement without being precious to maintain,” Danni says. “Each design imitates natural stone beautifully and enhances the overall concept.”
