Interior Designer

Temple & Webster is Australia’s number one online retailer of furniture and homewares, with a vision to make the world more beautiful, one room at a time. In 2022 we launched our new brand The Build by Temple & Webster – your first stop shop for home improvement! To realise our vision, we need an Interior Designer to join the team.

Your role is to set the interior design and styling tone of The Build across all business and consumer touch points to surprise and delight our customers, clients, and business partners.

What we’re looking for

The main responsibilities of your role include:

• Working with the Creative Director and 3D Artist to create inspiring visuals and creative executions
  Setting the interior design and styling tone of the new brand/s
• Searching the product catalogue to pull together cutting edge looks of spaces to be worked into 3D photography
• Formulating structure and processes as part of the founding creative team
• Management of the 3D studio schedule and workflow, to maximise productivity without jeopardising quality, ensuring shoot volume is manageable, timelines are reasonable, and shoot delegation is fair
• Management of interior design resources and appointment of interns using industry knowledge and connections with Sydney’s leading design schools
• Translating briefs from campaign and marketing teams, to create image content for EDM, website, mobile, app and other applications, and ensuring shoots meet prescribed inputs from marketing, campaigns, and design departments
• Liaising with category and campaign teams to make sure production pipeline is on and/or ahead of schedule, and utilising commercial knowledge to drive sales in response to the photographic display of product
• Alongside the Creative Director, working on the look and feel of 3D imagery ensuring it is inline with global industry trends, staying a step ahead of Australian mainstream interior trends, and appealing to our target audience – in both retail and trade categories
• Strategising with the marketing team about activations that will increase brand awareness, lead generation and product sales
• Concepting and executing new promotional campaign creative ideas, communicating and delegating briefs
• Evolving, maintaining and upholding brand values and visual language
• Competitive reviews and analysis
• Always looking for ways to innovate both in terms of visual execution and in efficiency of the production process

What you already have

• Tertiary qualifications in styling, visual communication, and art direction
• Minimum 3 years industry experience (publishing/agency/retail)
• Strong portfolio and experience in photographic interiors styling, interior design, and decorating
• A well-honed eye with a mastery of styling in areas such as concepting, composition, process, execution, etc
• Fluent in digital communication programs such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Google communications suite
• A keen eye with a passion for styling, graphic design, interior design, and fashion
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to present on camera, speak publicly about the brand and write copy a plus
• Highly organised and process driven, with exceptional problem solving skills both in creative fields, shoot production and project management
• Proven track record of innovation and ideas generation, the ability to both adhere to and evolve a brand
• Strong interest in art direction, photography, video, magazines, web, and staff management
• An ability to lead, manage and inspire a team
• An interest in multimedia, animation, video, 3D and evolving technologies is a plus
