Mi Designer
Mi Designer is expanding and is looking for a confident, creative and proactive Junior Interior Designer to join the team to assist in delivering award-winning mid-high end residential and commercial design projects.

Working fast, efficiently and collaboratively, we are looking for our next long-term member to join our busy & vibrant Crows Nest office. With music playing, coffee during the day and wine and chips on a Thursday afternoon, this fast-paced design studio is a great collaborative environment to come to work each day.
The ideal candidate will be eager to learn and excited to work on a project from concept through to delivery.
Working alongside the creative director and senior designers, you’ll be assisting in the following areas:
- Pulling together mood boards and presentations
- Creating design drawings and documentation including floor plans and elevations
- Ordering samples/materials for multiple projects.
- Creating FF&E schedules – selection and scheduling materials for presentations to clients & coordinate their ordering and installation during the project.
- Obtaining quotes and organising invoices for products – on both the phone and email.
- Ordering products and furniture – on both the phone and via email
- Arranging delivery and coordinating with clients and trades – on both the phone and email.
- General administration duties as required, answering the phone, greeting clients, setting up for client and staff meetings, greeting and organising couriers.
- Deliver brag-worthy and functional designs, which accurately respond to the client’s needs and wants.
To succeed you’ll have:
- A minimum of 1 – 2 years of professional interior decoration or design experience, preferably in a mid and high-end residential and or commercial design practice.
- No Graduates unless you have worked previously in an environment with transferable skills that can be applied to this role – Eg: Sales, customer-facing experience, logistics or administrative experience.
- An engaging and confident personality

- Excellent memory recall … you will be working across multiple projects
- An excellent listener and keen to learn and grow.
- Can roll uphill, a proactive solution finder.
- Hands-on approach and happy to take on any task to ensure a project’s completion
- Strong portfolio demonstrating stylish, exciting and functional design skills
- A good knowledge/understanding of specifications, finishes, materials and suppliers
- Skills in SketchUp or similar computer-aided drawing programs are required. We use SketchUp in our office. Training available
- Photoshop skills are a plus
- Confidence and experience using Apple Mac
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Office. Excel and Word are a must.
- Visualisation and communication skills to successfully communicate design concepts to clients and builders
- Appropriate Work/ Resident Visa
