Casual CAD Sketchup Interior Designer

Casual/Contract position available – Interior Designer for CAD and Sketchup

Min 2 years experience. Location: Ideally you would be located in Melbourne so that you can attend site meetings but we are open to remote work for the right candidate.

Eclectic Creative is a small-knit residential Interior Design and Decoration studio based in Melbourne  that works with clients on medium to large scale internal renovations, specialising in older and heritage homes, as well as working on New Builds and decoration and styling projects. We endeavour to work on small-med commercial projects across Melbourne.

Our signature style is blending the old with the new and creating warm, layered collected interiors and delivering a friendly and approachable style of service for our clients.

About the position – Eclectic Creative is looking for a motivated, down to earth can-do Interior Designer to support us with our interior design projects, mainly CAD and sketchup.

Youll be super organised, passionate and savvy with concept and design documentation. You will work closely with Jessica on a per project casual/contractor basis.

Your main role will be producing joinery documentation and renders for kitchen, bathroom and internal joinery design, so you need to know and understand how to design a Kitchen and Bathroom and have an understanding of Australian Standards.

You are confident, detail oriented and live and breathe interior design, especially renovation work, and the CAD and documentation aspect. You’re all about the details and looking to support Jessica in the interior design aspects for projects. This role will suit a freelancer and contractor. This does have the potential to evolve into regular part time work.

Responsibilities  & Skills required

• Proficient with both CAD and Sketchup. Excellent documentation skills, you’ll be able to take rough sketches and quickly turn them into concepts and documentation.
• Bathroom, Kitchen and joinery design experience. This is essential.
• Appreciate a similar aesthetic and vibe as Eclectic Creative
• Detail orientated with a can do, proactive approach. You are solution driven and can think on your feet.
• Produce FF&E documentation using Programa
• Create furniture floor plans and digital moodboards.
• Produce 2D detailed elevations for Kitchen, Bathrooms and built in joinery creating drawing documentation. This is a must.
• 3D views and renders with Sketchup/Enscape is essential.
• Create concept presentations using Canva.

Required Capabilities

• Detailed orientated.
• Outstanding presentation and communication skills verbal and written.
• Strong CAD and Sketchup abilities. Canva/Programa/Adobe Creative Suite is ideal.
• Strong knowledge of Kitchen and Bathroom design including Australian standards.
• Previous experience in mid to high end residential and commercial interiors is desirable.

Tertiary qualification in Interiors Design or similar is essential.

Must hold current ABN and Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance.

Current drivers licence is preferable.

Role is contract basis to begin, with the opportunity to move to part time.
